The beginnings of the EPIDEMIE RECORDS publishing house go back to the fading euphoric "post-revolutionary" years, specifically to 1993, when a 14-year-old lunatic completely fell in love with music (riot), started publishing a small xeroxed fanzine, and a few months later started a small postal distribution of demo cassettes he reviewed, he also added the distribution of similar fanzines and finally started totally DIY hardcore / punk / grind label. This raised a huge wave that could never be stopped.

In the second half of the 1990s, the overall work became more "professional", and we are constantly trying to improve our publishing and distribution activities. We are starting to release a vinyl 7 "EP and slowly but surely switch to releasing CDs, which was quite a difficult and, above all, expensive affair at the time. At that time, we became known as a publishing house focusing mainly on death metal and grindcore with occasional trips to experimental genres.

After the year 2000, our more extreme musical expression recedes into the background and we try to profile ourselves as a publishing house specializing in a wide range of metal music with an overlap into other notable genres such as dark ambient, industrial, neofolk, drone, etc. We continue in this spirit to this day.

We also place great emphasis on the graphic design and overall processing of the published titles, of which we have implemented almost ninety so far. In the almost 25 years of Epidemie Records' existence, we have collaborated with many bands, which in their time had a firm place in the Czech scene and there were also interesting overlaps with various other countries such as Israel, Pakistan, Hungary, Finland, etc. We had the opportunity to work for example. s Melancholy Pessimism, Disfigured Corpse, Deaf And Dumb, Imperial Foeticide, Hermaphrodit, Hermafrodit, Demimonde, Malignant Tumor, Ingrowing, Dusk, Thy Catafalque, Jääportit, Gospel of the Future, Heiden, Dying Passion, Forgotten Silence, Kriegsfall-U. Larrnakh, Aghiatrias, Tábor Radosti, Mistress of the Dead and many more.

Of course, the operation of distribution is an integral part of the label's operation.

FT Records

South Moravian South Moravian

Labels

FT Records was established in 1991 as a typical one-man label. The man was the bandmaster of the Folk Team (hence the name of the publishing house) Pavel Kopřiva.

Such publishers have the advantage that the owner of the company is also the guarantor of dramaturgy, and if it is a strong and distinct personality, the genre focus and quality of the published media can usually be guaranteed in advance.

The focus of the company's dramaturgy is focused on folk and rock, with an overlap from a tramp song to a melodic beat, similarly the regional focus is of course Moravian, but the company does not avoid other regions of the country. It can be said that in this sense the company is not subject to any strict restrictions, the criterion for it is only the quality of the repertoire and a certain musical affinity.

For almost 30 years of existence, FT Records has released recordings not only of the parent Folk Team, but also of folk stars such as Karel Plíhal, Vlasta Redl, Nezmaři, AG Flek, Pavel Helan and others. In an edition focused on rock music, FT Records released albums by Synkopy 61, Progres, Futurum, Spielberg, Taxi, singer and keyboardist Roman Dragoun and guitarist Miloš Makovský. Fans of the South Moravian tramp music scene, which is still very popular in the Czech Republic, are also highly valued. Artists of this genre include Karabina, Příboj, T.E.Band, Ozvěna and the legendary Wabi Ryvola. We must not forget the "Brno Hantec", the phenomenon of the Brno language was published on albums and in book form, the songs Los Brňos and Radek Rettegy, stories about the legendary Frant Kocourek and Rudy Kovand belong to the golden fund of humor. The FT Records catalog has 150 titles.

Since 2000, Kopřiv's permanent collaborator has been Tomáš Frait, who over the years has become his right-hand man and participates in the overall activities of the FT Records agency, especially in the production and dramaturgy of festivals organized by FT Records.
