The Church Conservatory of the German Order (CKNŘ) was established as the Church Conservatory of Opava in the school year 2006/2007 of the transformational Church Organ School in Opava. The founder of CKNŘ since April 2018 is Bailiva Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, families of the German Order.
The school offers lessons in organ, piano, harpsichord, wind and string instruments, solo singing and choir management. Compared to another conservatory, the Opava Conservatory provides a unique focus called Church music, which is an extended teaching of professional subjects in the field of church music, which includes organ playing, vocal expression and choir management, and is open to a set of other professional subjects.
Organizationally, the conservatory is divided into 7 departments - the department of church music and organ, piano, singing, choir management, string, wind and guitar. Education in playing musical instruments and singing focuses on individual forms of instruction. Students of the conservatory fulfill their professional practice, which develops the pupil's experience of playing in public, through concert performances, student masses, interpretation seminars, class plays and various public performances. For its activities, the school uses the renovated premises of a historic building in the center of Opava, including the chapel. The total capacity of the conservatory is 120 pupils.
A graduate of the field of education Music at the Church Conservatory of the German Order is ready to apply in the field that results from the focus of the completed professional training. It will apply in particular in the following areas:
as a musical instrumentalist (soloist, chamber musician, member of an orchestra, church musician;
as a choirmaster of vocal and vocally instrumental ensembles;
as conductor of chamber and symphony orchestras, leader of the ensemble;
as a composer, music arranger;
as a teacher in basic art schools and conservatories, also in school or other facilities for hobby art activities and education;
he can also work as an accompanist, music editor, music dramaturg, music director, music manager, etc .;
as an artistic and pedagogical worker focusing on the development of the musical life of churches (church organist, choirmaster, choir director)
