MHF Lípa Musica is the most important festival project in the field of classical music in northern Bohemia. During its nineteen-year history, it supplemented the imaginary cultural map of our country with a highly valued and high-quality music holiday and thus became not only a representative of our country's culture in the Czech Republic, but also fulfills its international status as one of the few events in the Czech Republic. It fulfills it not only at the level of presentation of the world's leading performers in the country, but also through the export of the Czech musical elite to Germany. For years, the festival has been predestined for the development of the Czech-German dialogue, which takes place at the artistic level, but also in creating an environment for deepening friendly relations between neighboring regions at the organizing and visitor level. In recent years, the Lípa Musica Festival has been sponsoring its program with the personality of an artistic guarantor (Radek Baborák in 2017 and 2018, Josef Špaček in 2019 and 2020). This institute of the festival opens the door to the possibility of presenting excellent performers from abroad, not only of German provenance, who often, despite their exceptional qualities, appear on Czech stages for the first time and are thus a new inspiration for the Czech cultural community. Lípa Musica pays attention not only to the high level of interpretive quality, but also to the content of the dramaturgy itself and the careful selection of the presented works and their discovery and value not only in the context of generally reflected themes and anniversaries. The Olomouc International Organ Festival was established in 1969 and takes place every year in September in the Church of St. Mořice.
The founder of the festival was prof. Antonín Schindler (1925 - 2010), who worked as an organist in the church of St. Mořice. Here he had at his disposal a unique instrument by Michael Engler from 1745, which was, however, considerably dilapidated. On the initiative of prof. Schindler's organ was generally repaired and expanded, and it was this reconstruction that prompted the establishment of an organ festival with an international level.
The Olomouc International Organ Festival has become a household name in the organ world, and its quality and level are evidenced by a number of the world's top organists who have performed at the festival. The festival is organized by the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc.

The civic association MLADÁ PRAHA - INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL has set itself the goal of helping promising young beginning artists in the field of classical music - instrumentalists, singers, chamber ensembles, conductors, but also composers. We want to facilitate the beginnings of their artistic career through concerts at the international level and enable the establishment of friendships with young musicians from all over the world.

Thus was born the idea of ​​founding an international music festival. The initiators, representatives of the International Music Society in Munich (IMGM - Internationale Musikgesellschaft München) decided in 1990 to locate it in Czechoslovakia and chose the name Mladá Praha. In 1992, at the turn of August and September, the first festival took place with the participation of artists of eight nationalities from Peru to Japan. During 1992, a Japanese committee of the Young Prague Festival was also established in Tokyo with the task of selecting the most interesting young musicians from Asia. Thanks to the constant support of Japanese companies permanently operating in the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Culture and several sponsors from the Czech Republic, whose support we greatly appreciate, it has been possible to hold twenty-five years of the festival. In total, over 900 young artists from most European countries, as well as from the USA, Canada, Peru, India, Mexico, China, Korea and Japan performed at more than 350 concerts. In addition to soloists, a number of orchestras and choirs performed here.

The Pardubice Music Spring International Festival has been an important cultural event in the East Bohemian region since 1978. Since 2013, the festival has been organized by Barocco semper giovane, o.p.s. The festival offers music of all stylistic periods, the genre is mainly focused on classical music. Approximately twenty concerts take place every year from the beginning of March to the middle of May in concert halls and monuments of the city of Pardubice and other cities in the region. The festival presents important domestic and foreign artists, chamber ensembles, symphony orchestras, opera and ballet ensembles.

Since 2013, they have performed at the Pardubice Music Spring, for example, the Prague Symphony Orchestra. The Autumn Festival of Sacred Music was founded in 1994 and over the twenty-six years of its existence has become a major cultural event in Olomouc. Under the auspices of the archbishop of Olomouc and Moravian metropolitan Msgre Jan Graubner the Festival is organised by MUSICA VIVA in co-operation with the City of Olomouc, the Regional Authority of the Olomouc Region and the Czech Ministry of Culture. The prominent Czech conductor Stanislav Macura was the Festival’s co-founder and over a period of fifteen years served as its artistic director and conductor significantly influencing the Festival’s unique character. The dramaturgy draws upon the immensely rich heritage of brilliant composers of all nations without ignoring contemporary modern sacred music and observes ecumenical principles. The Festival has been recognised for the outstanding artistic quality of guest soloists and internationally renowned quality of vocal and instrumental ensembles. Radio recordings were made from the Festival concerts by Czech Radio, Radio Niederoesterreich (ORF), Slovak Radio and Polish Radio; concerts were broadcasted across Europe via international radio network of EBU. Twenty-five concerts were recorded and broadcasted in co-operation with Czech Television and TV Noe.

The Smetana’s Litomyšl festival is the second oldest music festival in the Czech Republic, and at the same time it is among the largest regular classical music festivals held in the country.

It mainly features opera performances and concerts, as well as gala concerts, oratorios, cantatas and song evenings; that is forms in which vocal artistry dominates. However symphonic, instrumental and chamber music are not ignored and in the venues here there are ballet performances and church music as well as promenade concerts and other genres. Every year at the festival practically all the top Czech interpreters perform, the three national theatres, all the significant orchestras and choirs and the best conductors, soloists and instrumentalists. And even though there are many significant foreign guests (among others Katia Ricciarelli, Sherill Milnes, Bernd Weikl, Kurt Rydl, Sergej Larin, Neil Shicoff, Torsten Kerl, Sumi Jo, Kate Royal, Marcello Giordani, Thomas Hampson, Oksana Dyka ...) Smetana’s Litomyšl has retained its Czech character and so is truly a national festival.

The centre of the festival is the wonderful Litomyšl State Castle, which in 1999 was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The main events are held mostly in the acoustically excellently prepared second courtyard with its unique retractable roof, as well as in the castle riding hall, in Litomyšl’s churches, in the Smetana Hall and regularly in selected places in the Pardubice region.

A visit to Smetana’s Litomyšl is no ordinary occasion, as aside from the interesting dramaturgy and the brilliant performances it offers a chance to stay away from the metropolitan hustle and bustle in a place with its own unique spirit.

The Strings of Autumn were established in 1996 during the tenure of Czech President Václav Havel by the curators of music events at Prague Castle, Marek Vrabec and Martin Pechanec. In the first eight years of the festival’s existence in the castle itself, the Strings of Autumn were distinguished by original programming and exceptional concerts, such as Cecil Taylor’s recital, the Czech premiere of Michael Nyman, or Jan Garbarek’s concert with the Hilliard Ensemble.
The list of artists and projects, which the festival has introduced to the Czech Republic for the first time ever throughout its 21-year span, stands as a rare accomplishment: Brad Mehldau, Bobby McFerrin, Cecil Taylor, Gregory Porter, Cassandra Wilson, Gil Shaham, Daniel Hope, Ghostpoet, Young Fathers, Chris Thile, Jason Moran, and many others. The Strings of Autumn have also initiated new projects and productions, such as the opera Don Juan in Prague in co-production with the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the theatrical rendition of Schubert’s Winter Journey at the Barrandov studios, or the live performance of Zdeněk Liška’s music to the film Markéta Lazarová. The festival systematically introduces the leading composers of today to Prague – including the likes of Michael Nyman, Gavin Bryars, Steve Reich, David Lang, Julia Wolfe, or this year’s legendary Terry Riley. The Strings of Autumn initiate artistic encounters that can prove to be life-changing. One example among many is Gregory Porter’s acquaintance with the Czech Hammond keyboardist Ondřej Pivec, which launched their Grammy Award-winning collaboration.
Each year the festival treads the pioneering path to broader musical horizons. Every concert is a major event of its type and genre. The Strings of Autumn offer music that you will not hear anywhere else.
