Can you get new concert goers, even if you serve them a marginal music genre, lesser-known or completely unknown names and music they don't know from radio or television? The Jazz to the Regions region of the Art Brno project, focusing on modern and contemporary jazz, Czech and partly also West Slovak music clubs and rising stars of domestic and Central European jazz and blues, has been trying to do all this at once for many years. The project relies on an adequate advertising and media campaign, a good knowledge of the local club scene and, above all, a significant dramaturgy, bringing unquestionable musical quality to the regions. Jazz to the regions thus tries, among other things, to coordinate and connect local jazz and blues activities in the regional cultural centers of the Czech and Slovak Republics.
The basic playing fields of the whole project in the Czech Republic are now Brno, České Budějovice, Český Těšín, Frýdek-Místek, Cheb, Jablonec nad Nisou, Jihlava, Karlovy Vary, Kuřim, Mariánské Lázně, Mladá Boleslav, Liberec, Olomouc, Opava, Ostrava, Pardubice, Plzeň, Polička, Prague, Svitavy, Tišnov, Trutnov, Uherské Hradiště, Varnsdorf, Veselí nad Moravou and Zlín, in a more freely associated variant and about 30 other cities in the Czech Republic. In Slovakia, mainly clubs in Bratislava, Novo Mesto nad Váhom, Piešťany and Trenčín.
